by Peter Bloedel Directed by Engela Edwards This is a funny 40-minute one-act play with a happy ending. A whimsical reinvention of Shakespeare's love story, without all the tragedy. It comes complete with fanciful costumes, rhymed couplets and creative wordplay -- similar to something Dr. Seuss might have written if he ever had his way with the script. This play first premiered in 2001 and has since played in 41 US states, plus Australia, Canada, Japan, & South Africa. Our Bastrop production originally played Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007 @ 1 & 3 p.m. at the Bastrop Opera House, 711 Spring Street, Bastrop, Texas Booking: We are
now booking school performances.
Time: This performance last 40 minutes, and it is possible to book back to back performances. Cost: Free to... you decide. We pay $45 per performance for royalty fees for each performance, so it would be nice if you could help offset those expenses, but it isn't always necessary. Sometimes we can find sponsors to help us with those fees. Why: These school performances give our actors more opportunities learn through performance, and it allow children access to theater who might not otherwise see live theater. When: We prefer Wednesday bookings but can make the show available on other days. Upcoming shows:
